Seven Deadly Sins Series - Lust

Since I missed the first challenge for the Seven Deadly Sins nail art series, I am making up for it!

These are my nails for the Lust challenge. What, in the nail art world, is more lusted after than a gorgeous holo polish, right?

So I used the 2013 Color Club Halo Hues to do a dotticure!

April Favorites

These are in no particular order this month! I couldn't pick a favorite among them!

So my three favorite manis I have done this month are:

Seven Deadly Sins Series - Gluttony

I'm a little late, but I joined a nail art group on Facebook, and we are do Seven Deadly Sins nails! I missed the first day, Lust, so I'll have to make it up later. For now, I have gluttony nails!

I've had China Glaze Grape Juice for about two years and have never tried it by itself. So I decided to pair it was ChG Grape Pop and to stick with the theme, grabbed a few acrylic paints and attempted some grape nails!

Grape Pop is on my index and middle fingers on the left, and Grape Juice is on my ring nail and pinkie.

Born Pretty Store Nail Dangle Review

Born Pretty Store sent me a nail dangle/charm to review and show you. I've always loved nail charms and used to wear them, but now that I am smarter with nail care, I'm not too froggy to just poke a hole in my nail, so I grabbed a steak knife and poked a hole in a fake nail to try these out instead!

Born Pretty Store 3D Crystal Rhinestone Review

I have some really pretty 3D red crystal rhinestones from Born Pretty Store to share with you. They come in 12 different colors, but I picked red because I thought I might be able to make some cute ruby-inspired nail art with them.

I thought these would be large, but still small enough to fit one on each finger. The website says they are 1 cm in diameter, so I guess I should have looked at a ruler to see what I was going to be getting.

I decided to put the stone on a base of Julep Amelia (why, I have no idea because I hate streaky pearl finishes, but I figured I'd give it a shot since it was in my untrieds).

Julep - Morgan

The crazy foiled and fimo'd nails I showed you earlier were over a base of Julep Morgan. So I figured I'd do a quick swatch of it on it's own!

Foils and Fimos Video Tutorials

I loved the Born Pretty Store foils they sent me for review, so I bought a couple more and some fimos. The only fimos I had were a few different star shapes and I tried many times to like them but couldn't. So I figured maybe I would like another style better and they were super cheap!

KBShimmer - Don't Teal Anyone

Don't Teal Anyone was another KBShimmer high on my wish list. I love it every time I see it, so it finally had to be mine!

And I am definitely not disappointed!!

Blackheart Beauty - Bright Stick

I showed you a couple of Blackheart skull polishes yesterday. They also make stacked, multi-colored polishes.

I just love the idea of these! Of course they do end up mixing over time, but I figure ones like this will just mix into a purple color so it won't look terrible.

Blackheart Beauty - Dark Teal and Multi Glitter

I am a sucker for a cute bottle. It's no secret. Put your polish in a bottle that is shaped like a kitten and I'll be the first in line to buy it! This is why Hot Topic is bad for me.

Blackheart Beauty makes a line of polishes in skull shaped bottles... I need them. I need them all!

They were on sale, buy one, get one half off, so I decided to pick a few up. A few. Or a dozen. Whatever.

The first one I have to show you is the oh so uniquely named Dark Teal. It is a beautiful one-coater!

KBShimmer - Toucan Touch This

I don't often buy indies due to the hefty price tag, but I've always loved so many KBShimmer creations, that I finally gave in and placed an order for six beauties!

Toucan Touch This has been on my lemming list for quite some time, so I was pretty excited to get it!

Earth Day Nails

Happy Earth Day!

I figured today would be the perfect day to try out some sponged earth nails, so I started with China Glaze Ride the Waves, then randomly sponged around on top of that with a bunch of greens, a brown, white, and grey.

China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic vs. Make an Entrance

Don't you hate it when a polish company takes an old color, puts a new name on it and sells it like it's an original? So do I!

China Glaze is guilty of this! I got Fuchsia Fanatic with the ElectroPop collection in 2012, then Make an Entrance was re-released as part of their Sweet Sensations Ombré set. The two looked suspiciously similar though, so I had to do a comparison on them. I actually was trying to find the name for an unlabeled bottle of Color Club I have that looks a lot like Make an Entrance, when I discovered that it looked a lot like Fuchsia Fanatic, too. And so this post was born. I'd liked to have thrown the CC in with these, but I have yet to find a name for it!

For the comparison, each is shown with two coats of polish and no topcoat. Fuchsia Fanatic is on the left (pointer and middle), Make and Entrance is on the right (ring and pinkie).

I have a new banner!

Sorry, I have to brag a little. I spent 3 hours in Photoshop making this thing! I love how it turned out, though!

Fimo Stars on SXY Violet Vixen

That's a little better! I thought "hey, orange and purple DON'T go together, so let's put them together!"

This I can digest a lot better, though! That last fimo look? Ugh! This one? Could have been worse!

Bestie Twin Nails with Peace, Love and Polish

If you're on Instagram, you've probably seen the bestie twin nails tag going around. So Peace, Love and Polish and I decided to team up and join the fun!

We've both always wanted to try the nude and neon combo, so what better opportunity? We used Zoya Avery (nude), China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (pink) and Kiwi Cool-ada (green), and picked stripes and flowers for our theme.

365 Days of Color - Luck of the Irish and Leprechaun Farts

My first ever actual indie polish purchase was not a disappointment!

I've won a few indies in giveaways, bought one from a blog sale, and was given another in a swap, but other than buying Sunny's Miracle Balm, it wasn't until recently that I bought an indie polish directly from the seller!

I love her moisturizers so much, and wanted a bottle of her limited edition Luck of the Irish (which was free with the purchase of Leprechaun Farts [how can you not need that one for the name alone!?]), so I picked up the two polishes from 365 Days of Color along with my last cuticle balm/oil score!

Happy Birthday, Polish and Charms!

Today is Polish and Charms' birthday! Head over to her blog and wish her a happy birthday!

Quince de Creatividad

Long time, no Quince de Creatividad! So I have a fun craft to share with you today!

Unfortunately I don't have all of these that I have made to show because I was too excited to give the others out after I made them to stop and take pictures! I have actually made 4 of them, all in the same style for the most part, with leopard and/or zebra print, just with different colored backgrounds, but gave one to my mom (red, white, and black), one to my step sister (yellow and green), and one to Meredith (I believe hers was blue and I don't remember what other colors).

L.A. Colors - Whipped

I rarely see any new L.A. Colors that I don't already have. I can only find them at Dollar General/Family Dollar stores here, and they seem to always be the same ones every time. So when I discovered a whole mess of L.A. Colors at a dollar store when I went to visit my mom over spring break that I didn't already have, I had to pick a bunch of them up!

Lacquers Like Lace - Hail the Pumpkin King

I love frankening, but I haven't been able to for quite a while. I actually created this one a few years back, with the intentions of wearing it on Halloween, but never got to, and I don't want to wait 7 more months!

I've also given my frankens an official brand to fit in with the pen name Scars Like Lace and my blog Nails Like Lace. I settled on Lacquers Like Lace! I love it! ^.^

Anyway... The polish. I call this one Hail the Pumpkin King, inspired by the Tim Burton movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Drippy Leopard

I wouldn't be me without adding even more to an already crazy, neon, rainbow leopard print mani, right?!

Neon Rainbow Leopard

I mentioned earlier that when I swatched all of the Blush polishes, I ended with white so I could add a design on top! Here it is!

Blush Nail Polish - 7 Color Set

My mom found this cute little set of polishes by a brand called Blush for around $5. Of course none of these colors are unique, but I needed to swatch them all, anyway! ^.^

All of these pictures except for the white and green had to be put in Photoshop so I could adjust the color! The bottle shot shows them all just fine, so it is a little weird they went wonky during their photo shoot on the nail. They all photographed perfectly if they were together, but not separately.

Oddly, my phone was better to capture some of them than my camera, too. So there's a mix of both in here.

Sweets 'n' Treats Nails

I ordered Zoya's Color Cuties and wanted to play with them, so I used seven of the eight cremes to make a different gradient on each nail.

Acid Wash/Grunge Nails

I have wanted to try out acid wash nails/the grunge technique for quite some time and finally got around to it... a month ago.

It took me six months to actually try the technique and another six months to get around to posting about it! =P

It's been so long I can't recall what polishes I used in this. I know Revlon Metallic was one. I believe both China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and Recycle, and some random black creme were used, too. I know Recycle is there, but I thought I'd put down CC, silver, black, then Recycle. But that bottom layer could be Recycle. I'm really not sure. Anyway...

Piggy Paint - Glittery Purple

Little Missy got a couple new Piggy Paints and of course, I after I waited for her to fall asleep so I could paint her nails, I had to make sure we had matching manicures! ^.^

I figure I'm going to be sharing my polishes with the munchkin in a few years, so she can share hers too! Haha!

Born Pretty Store Nail Foil Review

Born Pretty Store added a new item to their shop that I have been anticipating like crazy!

I have wanted to try out foils (the transferable kind) for quite a while and was excited to get the chance to try three!

These are very affordable at $2.29 USD each. They have 24 options to choose from, and each foil is 113 cm in length by 2.5 cm in width.

Kia Nail Art Animation Commercial

Zoya - Godiva + Zoya - Carmen

I only purchased one of Zoya's textured Pixie Dust polishes, because I wanted to make sure I didn't hate them, and just try one out first. Since I love nudes, and especially nudes with a little twist on them, like added shimmer, or something, I decided to go for Godiva!

Born Pretty Store Nail Spikes Review

I have another spectacular product from Born Pretty Store to share with you today!

Born Pretty Store Nail Chain Review

I received a fun nail art product from Born Pretty Store to share with you this afternoon!

This 100 cm chain comes in either silver or gold and retails for just $2.99. It comes in one piece and has to be cut, but I was able to just use an old pair of plain scissors that I wasn't worried about dulling for that.

Zoya - Rica

This is another one I bought recently and feel in love with once it showed up! It is another gem from Zoya that just glows and is so amazing in person!

Zoya - Ali

I picked this one up when they offered it as part of a free trio in February, and I really like it! Of course, like any neon, it is a pain and a half to photograph, but it is so bright and pretty! I tried to play with the coloring a little in Photoshop, but it still isn't spot-on accurate!

Blue, Tan, and Brown Floral Water Marble

I tend to sit and practice water marble color combos for hours on end sometimes, just to see what would look good together, which polishes spread well, and which don't. In the midst of one these sittings, I came across a color combo that I fell in love with and immediately had to put it on my nails!
