Chevrons & Whales

Today's inspiration comes from the toy aisle. My daughter got to pick out a new baby doll and I saw one wearing the cutest chevron and whale print dress. So of course it needed to be on my nails!

Pink Forest Stamping Mani

When I put on KBShimmer Peak My Interest, and had a stamping plate sitting on my desk in need of testing, the forest images on it just somehow seemed perfect to go over this polish! In my head anyway.

Twinsie Tuesday: Match Your Nails to Your Car

I'm pretty happy with how this week's Twinsie Tuesday mani turned out even though it is plain and simple! I cheated a little, but my nails legit match a car that is owned by someone in my immediate family, so not really!

Galaxy Mani with Creative Cuticles "Nebula"

For this galaxy accent mani, I used three coats of the gorgeous holo glitter, Creative Cuticles Nebula, over an ink blue. I sponged a few colors randomly on my middle nail with another coat of the holo glitter over it for the galaxy bit, and added white dots to represent some stars.

Cotton Candy to Vampy: Thermal Chevrons

I recently received some pretties from Born Pretty Store, and I always have fun with thermal polishes (read: a kid in a candy store), so I started playing with one (#110), Parrot Polish Black Cherry (another thermal), and chevron nail vinyls. Above is both polishes in their warm state.

The warm color reminds me of cotton candy, but they turn dark and vampy when cold!

Birthday Squirrel

A week ago I participated in a collaboration to celebrate one of my fellow Mommy's Mani Monday group members' birthday (the collage here has everyone's manis together who participated)!

Mommy's Mani Monday: Floral - Half Moon Daisies

Welcome back to another Mommy's Mani Monday - a more cheerful start to one of the worst days of the week! :)

Our floral prompt this week was very vague, and I decided to keep it simple with some daisies.

DIY Sheer Tinting Polish - Made with Marker Ink - Tutorials and Demonstration

After I posted this mani, I was asked to share how I made my tinting polishes, and to show them being used in action. So below the jump, I have three videos! Enjoy!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood: Bonus Mani - 90's Throwback Skittles

Digit-al Dozen is only five days out of the month, but I have an extra bonus mani from our Childhood theme this week!

I had done this mani, but wasn't a fan after it was finished, so I put it on the back burner to post only if I didn't get something done I liked better, but I decided to go ahead and share it anyway.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood: Day 4 - Glitter Swirls

Remember those spinning paint toy.... things that made really cool art when you dripped colors onto the spinning paper and it swirled all together? That's what inspired today's mani - although it is a very loose interpretation!

I loved that toy when I was younger! I created marker art and wicked paintings with that thing!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood: Day 3 - Sticky Hands

If you begged your parents for a quarter every time you saw a vending machine, surely you remember those awesome hand-shaped sticky, jelly toys that were so much fun to slap against the wall.... until they lost their sticky after half a dozen splats!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood: Day 2 + Twinsie Tuesday: Watercolor Floral Nails with DIY Tinting Polish

Today's the second day of the Digit-al Dozen Childhood theme, plus we are doing watercolor nails for Twinsie Tuesday today. I wanted to do watercolor as one of my DD  manis since I've always loved to paint, including painting with watercolors as a kid; so it worked out perfectly! I figured I'd combine the two prompts/groups into one post/mani.

Stained Glass Flowers - Leadlighting Technique

Seeing all the DIY "sheer tint" polishes, I got the idea to try some out myself, but instead I used ink from markers. The original Sheer Tint polishes aren't opaque enough for my liking, so I love this simple solution!

Mommy's Mani Monday: What Do You Want to be When You Grow Up?

For Mommy's Mani Monday today, our theme is to create a mani inspired by yours or your child's future dream career.

At one point in my life, I wanted to own my own plane and be a pilot like my uncle, so I have a cloudy mani to represent that.
