I was recently contacted by a new-to-me, 5-Free company called LOOK Nail Color, and asked to review a few of their polishes. 

A little background info about the company from their website:

What I found the most unique about the brand is how they market their collections: Each collection is a different "look". For instance, they have one collection called LOOK Glitzy, which consists of gold, silver, and black polishes. Another is called Made You LOOK, and it has black, white, and turquoise polishes. So I enjoy how they incorporate the word "look" into their collection names!

The trio they sent me is called LOOK Proud. So let's see if these live up to their claim, shall we?

Twinsie Tuesday: Jelly Sandwich - Green and Holo

I can't believe it is already Tuesday again! That means another Twinsie Tuesday post! 

This week's prompt is to create jelly sandwich manis. I chose two polishes fairly randomly with no real thought to them or final view in mind: one of my DIY sheer tinting jelly polishes made with green highlighter ink, and KBShimmer Flake Dance (minus the snowflake glitters).

Stained Glass Flowers - Leadlighting Technique

Seeing all the DIY "sheer tint" polishes, I got the idea to try some out myself, but instead I used ink from markers. The original Sheer Tint polishes aren't opaque enough for my liking, so I love this simple solution!

Chunky Gold Glitter Sandwich in Beige

Today's mani is a quick and simple layering combination with chunky glitter and jelly polish.

Mommy's Mani Monday - Movie-inspired

It may be a sin among humanity, but I have not seen the movie Frozen.

I do have some Frozen themed polishes, though, that were gifted to me.

Funky Fingers Anna was sitting in my untrieds, so I decided to use it in a mani for today's Mommy's Mani Monday movie-inspired prompt. I actually ended up really loving the mix of glitters (and that random dash of blue) in this topper!

Formula X Jelly Sandwich Skittles

Anyway.... I didn't do a fancy mani for today, but instead I am sharing an old one. I'd been playing with sandwiching Formula X glitters and Zoya jellies, but ended up liking the end product, so I thought it'd be worth posting!

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 3/3: Colored Decals

My final post for this little series is again layering these sheer jelly polishes over something else.

I was wearing a set of Sally Hansen nail strips for a couple of days. After staring at the black and white design, I started to wonder how they would look with the jellies on top of them. So began my experiment.

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 2/3: Watercolor

Yesterday I premiered a mini series in which I am showing different ways to use the Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies (or OPI Sheer Tints if you have those instead).

Today, I have a second look using them. This is probably the most popular way: a watercolor mani.

Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies - "How To" Part 1/3: Colored Holos

When I first picked up the Sally Hansen Palm Beach Jellies, I took so long to actually use them, because I wanted to come up with some different things to do with them.

For starters, I'll go through the polishes. From left to right, they are:

Berry pink - Jell-ous?
Coral pink - Water Melon
Peach orange - Vitamin D-light
Green - Sea Through
Blue - Ice Tint
Purple - Grape Jelly

These are not typical jelly polishes. They are more like the Sheer Tints from OPI, which I don't have to compare, but from what I have heard they are thinner and easier to work with than the Sheer Tints, but have about the same opacity.


I was curious as to how these would look over a holo polish since they are so sheer. So that is what I did for my first mani showing how these polishes can be used.

Barielle Spring Velvets Collection 2014

With the start of a new week, I have a new polish collection to share with you!

This is Barielle's Spring Velvets collection for 2014. There are six polishes in it and I am showing them all without topcoat. They also have another six for the upcoming season and those are called the Spring Vibrants.

Maybelline Wild At Heart Jelly Sandwich

I picked up Maybelline Wild at Heart the other day because I loved the look of it. It is just black and pinkish red glitter in a clear base. At first I wasn't sure what I was to going to do with it, but ended up creating one of the very few jelly sandwiches (paired with a sheer nude) I've ever done that I actually like!
