Guest Post from Crafty Nail

I'm finally settling back into the routine of things after vacation, and I have one more guest post to share! This time Jacqui is visiting!

-----------------

Hi everyone, my name is Jacqui. I hail from the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York State and I run a little nail blog called craftynail.com. I'm really happy to be guest posting at NailsLikeLace since I'm an avid and loyal reader of Amber's blog. I really like her style since it's kind of adventurous and you never really know what she'll be sporting on those nails of hers! I like a good surprise.

I've prepared a fun summer manicure for Amber's readers today! July is my fave month since it's my birthday month, my big OMD2 nail challenge runs for 31 days, and don't forget about BBQs, 4th of July and fireworks too! So to celebrate all things JULY I've got a fun Americana skittles mani for you.

Patriotic Owl Nails

Happy Independence Day to my fellow North Americans!

Today's mani came to me on a whim, so I didn't have much time to put into it, but I really wanted to squeeze this one in for the holiday!

Independence Day Cupcakes

I liked the Julep February Maven colors I used in my first Fourth of July mani so much that I wanted to use them again for another mani, only this time I made cupcakes! ^.^

Busy Girl's Summer Nail Art Challenge - Glitter // Fourth of July Nails - Fishtail Braid

I did a fishtail braid mani for The Fourth last year, and loved it so much that I knew I wanted to do another this year! Plus, this week's theme for the Busy Girl's Summer Nail Art Challenge is glitter!

Since last year's Fourth of July fishtail braid was done in creme polishes and topped with glitter, I wanted to start with sparkly polishes this time, instead. It was a little lumpy, and I could have added more topcoat, but it just wasn't working for me, for some reason.

4th of July Cloud Mani

I did this mani back in February when I got these three colors in my Julep Maven February box, but they made me think of the Fourth when put together, so I went with a simple cloud mani using all three and saved this one for July!

Happy Fouth of July!

I ran out of time, creativity, and energy to do a final Fourth of July look. So red, blue, and white glitter with star rhinestones it is!

Flakies for Freedom

The base for this mani was inspired by a look done by TrailerHood Chic in which she sandwiched Finger Paints Mötley in Revlon Royal.

It was really hard to capture a good picture of it, but I loved the look of the flakies layered between the jelly so much that I had to recreate it for myself!

July Manis

4th of July, 2011
My Fourth of July manicure. The true sparkliness of this design doesn't even come close, in pictures, to how wonderful it is in person!
