Grunge Skittles - Untriedicure #5

For today's mani, I have two more polishes that I haven't tried until now: OPI Black Cherry Chutney and Avon Touch of Taupe.

Twinsie Tuesday - Grunge Nails

For this mani, I started out with China Glaze Wicked Style as the bottom layer, added Mingle with Kringle, and finished it off with Zoya Louise. Then just went to town with a brush and some acetone to remove bits here and there.

Twinsie Tuesday Special Edition Anniversary Post: Recreate Another Twinsie's First TT Mani

Today is a special edition anniversary post from the girls in the Twinsie Tuesday group. Normally we post on Tuesdays (obviously), but for the group's anniversary, we did manicures inspired by another participant's first TT post.

I was so excited when I was assigned to Stephanie (A Little Polish) because I absolutely fell in love with her TT debut mani and immediately knew I eventually wanted to recreate it! Here's what her mani looked like:

The technique Stephanie used has a very grungy feel to me, though not actually what is known as a "grunge mani". I love the brush stroke-y look in this!

Acid Wash/Grunge Nails

I have wanted to try out acid wash nails/the grunge technique for quite some time and finally got around to it... a month ago.

It took me six months to actually try the technique and another six months to get around to posting about it! =P

It's been so long I can't recall what polishes I used in this. I know Revlon Metallic was one. I believe both China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and Recycle, and some random black creme were used, too. I know Recycle is there, but I thought I'd put down CC, silver, black, then Recycle. But that bottom layer could be Recycle. I'm really not sure. Anyway...
