Born Pretty Store - Studs & Polish Review

Today I have some really cute nail studs and a beautiful polish from Born Pretty Store to share with you.

First, the polish. The one I got is #41. It is a great mauve-ish color with a slight silver shimmer to it. It is barely visible to the eye, and I was unable to capture it on camera.

This is definitely not a self-leveling polish. It sinks into every nook and cranny of the nail; however, it does dry really fast, and only takes two coats for full coverage. It isn't too thick, so it is easy to work with, and at the same time, isn't too thin, so it doesn't easily flood your cuticles.

I gave this polish a one-day wear test without topcoat. It went through everyday doings, a shower, baby care, package opening (I'm bad, I break the cardinal rule and use my nails as tools =P), laundry, Paper Mario Wii'ing, nephew's birthday roller skating, and so forth, and survived it all without a single chip and no sign of wear (and I forgot to wrap the tips, even)!

This polish sells for $2.95 USD. It is a fairly small bottle. It isn't quite a mini, yet not quite full-sized, but regardless is still a great price! I am not sure if it is "Big 3 Free" or not, though. It's smell is quite a bit stronger than say China Glaze and all of those other popular brands. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I can't read the bottle as it is not in English, so... Whether it is "Big 3 Free" or not doesn't bother me, anyway.

They have tons of different polishes to choose from, too. This particular polish is one of forty-two of the BK Sweet Candy Colors Fast Dry polishes.

They also offer fluorescent polishes that glow under UV light, mattes, glitters, magnetic polishes, crackles, color-changing polish, and so forth.

Next, I have some adorable heart-shaped studs to show you. These are new in their store and come in either gold or silver. I am not sure what size they are, exactly, but they are definitely larger than their 2mm items.

These studs are $5.83 for a bag like you see below. They are a little on the pricey side, but they are totally worth it, in my opinion. They're different from the traditional stud and are just too cute! I do wish the dip in the top of the heart was a little deeper so it looked more like a heart, but they're still adorable the way they are!

These do lay pretty flat, so if you have a very pronounced curve to your nail, like I do, a thick topcoat (I used Sally Hansen Fast-Dri) is definitely required to keep the sides of the studs from catching on anything. I tried squeezing the sides of these to round them a little, but it didn't seem to do any good.

I do love the look of these! It was like having 10 tiny mirrors in my nails and I kept staring into them! ^.^
