Born Pretty Store Nail Art Studs Review

I have another review for you today of some products available at Born Pretty Store. I received a couple packages of studs; 2mm blue studs, and  2mm rounded pink stones. I did not count each individual stud, but there are tons in each bag! Enough for at least a dozen manicures or better! They came packaged like so:

On a side note, definitely make sure your nails are dry when trying to open these bags! Or ask for assistance, they were pretty tough to open without spilling with wet nails!

I decided to try out the blue studs first. I started with two coats Zoya Shawn:

Some of them are slightly thicker than others but it isn't noticeable. They were super easy to lay down, and were nice and flat, and stayed on really well considering I had a lot of them placed at the tip of one nail. They definitely, like any other 3D item, really, require a topcoat over them to keep them in place, or need to be placed down with nail glue if you'd rather skip the topcoat. Unlike regular rhinestones, however, the topcoat does not diminish the look of these at all!

I really loved the blue ones. The pink ones I do still like, the name of them is just misleading. They're a unique piece of 3D nail art, that's for sure, but I hate that they're called studs, because they are not. They aren't quite rhinestones, and they're not studs either. They're more like solid-color, neon half pearls. They almost look like little candies to me! Like the blue, yellow and pink dot candies that come in rows on a narrow sheet of paper!

For the pink ones, I placed them on top of two coats of a gorgeous polish I got from my first swap with Meredith of Polish and Charms, essence Grey-t to be Here. This is a really pretty grey with a beautiful hot pink shifting to a slight orange duo chrome-like shimmer in it. The shimmer was a bit difficult to catch in pictures on the nail, it's much more pronounced in the bottle, but it is a very unique addition to my collection and I really love it!

These little pink beauties are so bright that they were throwing off the focus on my camera! They are so bright that they didn't want to photograph color-accurately either! It probably took me 30 pictures to just get the color right!

But then I went crazy and kept adding more and more beads, which the camera hated me for, and this time absolutely refused to photograph properly!

I added a thick, quick-dry topcoat on top of these and wore them for a day without any popping off! And again, the topcoat did not diminish the look of them at all like it does with regular rhinestones. These pink ones did bleed a teeny bit, though. Nothing noticeable, and nothing I couldn't live with. I could tell they bled a little as I was applying the topcoat (Sally Hansen's Ista-Dri, btw), but not once I was done.

I see studs on blogs everywhere and really love them! I'm so glad to have finally gotten to try some out for myself and share them with you! If you're interested in trying out some studs, too, they have tons of different styles and colors to choose from on the Born Pretty Store site. They have square studs, star-shaped studs, they have the flat studs, the higher ones like these blue ones, and the round ones like the pink. Plus you get a bunch of colors to choose from; red, green, silver, gold, and a few others. Both of these that I've shown are $4.84 USD each.

Also, I have a 10% off coupon they gave me just for my readers! Enter ANL91 at checkout for the discount! Plus, they have free shipping, so what's not to love about that?!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has a spectacular day! :)
