DIY Textured Polish

I decided to attempt to create my own textured polish!

Shall we see how it turned out?!

At first I just gathered up some different stuff to mix with polish. I tried dried, finely ground baby oatmeal, which surprisingly didn't do too bad! It gave more of a flat texture. Salt was too big and chunky, though. It was a mess!

So my final recipe was colored polish, a whole bunch of clear-based glitter polish, and a teeny pinch of sand. I don't have actual measurements because I just mixed everything on a scrap piece of paper and applied it with a paint brush.

It is a little lumpy and difficult to get an even application, but I want to keep working with this!

For the pink here, I used China Glaze Passion for Petals, and the purple is China Glaze Spontaneous. The glitter in both is Pure ICE Endless Fortune.

It ends up with a similar textured feeling as the Zoya Pixie Dusts. It's not smooth, but not coarse. It is definitely fun to play with! I want to try it with loose glitter next so I am not adding any clear polish to the mix, which will hopefully make it more opaque, allowing fewer coats and giving a more even application, because the first coat was fine. Once I started adding the second and third coats is when it got lumpy and uneven!
