Teal Toes for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Don't worry, you will not be seeing my feet in this post! In fact, I can hardly even see them myself at this point, so I went with fingers instead!

Teal Toes is an ovarian cancer awareness website, and the idea for raising awareness is to paint your nails teal in August Septmeber (I swore it was August, but apparently I was wrong. It is okay, I guess I'm just a month early! ^.^).

If you don't have a teal polish to sport this month, (I know, I know, who am I kidding, I'm talking to a bunch of polish addicts here!) they have a whole list on their website of some great ones to choose from in different finishes. There are definitely more than they list, but it is just a general idea of some good ones to keep an eye out for if you're interested!

For my teal mani, I went with three different shades and a gradient. The darkest color at the tips is NOPI Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, the one in the middle is Diamond Cosmetics Don't Teal My Heart Away, and the lighter one at the cuticles (which is hardly distinguishable, but it is the lightest teal I have without being aqua) is L.A. Colors Atomic.

I tried out a new sponge for this gradient, and let's just say that memory foam is not a good choice. I'd gotten it as a sample in the mail from one of those bed companies, and decided I'd put it to good use as opposed to tossing it with the rest of the booklet. My nails were speckled with sponge bits pretty badly, but topcoat hid them for the most part!

Plus, it didn't blend quite as well as I would have liked. The more I look at them, the more I like the kind of splotchy gradient, too, though! ^.^

Regardless. Go paint your fingers and toes teal to support and raise awareness! :)
