Frenching Frank

Today I have a mani that was inspired by a similar look that Amy from I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous did, which you can see here.

This one is very simple to do and super cute! =)

For mine, I started with a base coat and some Nutra Nails Touch of Color base to hide the stains. I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Call You Later over 1 coat of Zoya Mitizi for the tips and covered the bottom of the ring and thumb with some plain glitter from L.A. Colors (it is really hard to see in the pictures). Then I used plain black acrylic paint for the stitching.

I rarely do a design that isn't full coverage due to the amount of  staining on my nails, but this base coat is like a little miracle in a bottle. You can hardly tell it's there AND it takes away/hides most of the yucky yellow in just ONE coat! =D

I didn't have enough tip on my little nubbin on my right hand, so I had to do the stitching a little differently. =P

I later tried adding black glitter to the stitching, but once I put on top coat, they just looked chunky and terrible and you couldn't tell there was glitter there. So I decided to change them a little and added a little Frankenstein monster to my ring finger:

I have discovered that, when using acrylic paints, it is a must to wait for the nail to dry completely before applying any top coat. Otherwise, it will smudge! And always apply the top coat with a very light hand to further avoid that nasty smudging!

Anyone else love Halloween nail art?

Thanks for stopping by and everyone have a Haunting Halloween!! =)
