Little Black Dress Lacquer: Valentine's Day Duo 2017 - Swatches and Heart Print Nail Art

Press Sample

Today I have some fun heart nail art and swatches featuring Little Black Dress Lacquer's Valentine's Day duo.

I couldn't decide which polish I wanted to try first, so I painted strips of each on my silicone mat which I then punched hearts out of with a shaped hole punch once the polish was dry. At first I wasn't too sure about pairing a burgundy with a gray, but they look great together! Plus this was such a fun, not-too-over-the-top-Valentine's look to wear!

Of course I have to share some swatches of these polishes solo too! Both needed two coats for opacity and had nice, smooth formulas that were easy to work with. Just like the last time I swatched LBDs, they offer a nice size brush, the polishes dry fairly quickly, and I had no staining issues or problems removing them.

Rouge Luxe
First up for the swatches is this beautiful berry wine sort of color! Courtne describes it as "a rich red polish with subtle shimmer and a soft fuchsia aura". It reads almost raspberry for me and it is so full of shimmer with a scattering of tiny flakes. I did need a coat of Seche Vite on top for a high-gloss finish.

Posh
The second of the duo is deemed "a perfect creamy blend of gray and beige with de-emphasized lavender undertones" and "a contemporary alternative to the traditional work appropriate polish". I like having the nontraditional Valentine's color and can definitely see a purple tinge/flash to it. This one also needed a coat of Seche for high-shine, but was a creamy dream to work with, and I love this take on a neutral tone!

This duo is set to release in Little Black Dress' shop February 1st either individually or as a gift set including cuticle oil, a buffer, and a glass nail file.

Thank you to Courtne for letting me swatch them, another beautiful execution to celebrate the upcoming holiday!
