Born Pretty Store Nail Art Practice Tool Review

Born Pretty Store actually calls these a "practice tool", or, technically, Nail Art Polish Display Tips Stand Practice Tool, but I prefer the term "swatch sticks" as that is all I have ever heard them referred to as before. I was contacted about reviewing a product from their shop, and I chose this 40 pcs practice tool because I felt it would be most beneficial to and is something affordable my readers could purchase, it is something easy to use for many different things, and something that I would be able to test and extensively review with great detail.

So, to start off, the 40 pcs Nail Art Polish Display Tips Stand Practice Tool arrived enclosed in a plastic bag and wrapped in a foam paper-like material to keep anything from breaking; it is always appreciated when a seller takes the steps to ship something safely. It avoids problems for both of us in the long run, rather it be me having to complain about a broken item or them having to replace it to shut me up. ^.^

Quince de Creatividad - Flower Hair Clips

I picked up this pastel rainbow hair clip for my little one at a craft show from a place called Kat & Co. Looking at it, I knew for $3.50 USD, I could make my own! So I did just that!

Revlon's Pretty in Papaya, Wet'n'Wild's Sunny Side Up, and Rainbow Honey's Hoof Wrassle: a Saran/Cling/Plastic Wrap Mani

For these nails, I started off with Revlon Pretty in Papaya. It is such a gorgeous color, that I had a hard time covering up its beauty!

I used Wet'n'Wild Sunny Side Up over that, and changed my ring finger to also use it as an accent nail:

Essie - Mocachino

I don't own a ton of polishes from Essie, but I am definitely glad I grabbed this one! It is gorgeous! Essie is a brand that is starting to grow on me. The first polish I tried from them was a blue pastel, and we did not get along at all, but I think the love/hate relationship is beginning to grow into a love/love relationship with this addition to my collection!

Flakie/Glitter Layering and Homemade Peel-Off Base Coat Experiment

Using Elmer's (or any type of) school glue as a peel-off base coat has been popular lately, so I decided to finally try it out.

I had a preliminary fear of it, I didn't want to end up peeling off a layer of my nail or anything! But I figured a little  buffing could always take care of that if it happened.

When debating on what polish to try it with, I thought shimmers, glitters, and flakies are the hardest to remove, so I'd layer all three and test that. Over 2 coats of a 3/4 glue and 1/4 tap water mix, I started out with one coat of a shimmer, My Favorite Martian from Confetti, put a coat of Zoya Apple over that, and finished with 2 coats of Sinful Colors' flakie Green Ocean.
