Let's Play Word Association

When you see/hear the word "leap", what's the very first thing that comes to your mind? Personally, I think of frogs or the phrase "leapin' lizards!".

Anyway, what you really came here for, my Leap Year mani. I wanted to post these this morning but didn't have time before class. Better late than never, though! =D

Sleepingest Little Fuzzies

You could say they look like teddy bears. Or mice. Or puppies. Whatev. The intention was bears, but they didn't really come out looking like bears. The one on my thumb looks exceptionally mousey. Either way, we'll just say that apparently my bear-painting technique needs some work.

These were also really difficult to photograph. I used China Glaze Fast Forward top coat and its level of shine, plus the sun didn't mix for good capturing. I was able to get better pics inside with my phone and still wasn't all that successful:

Faux Fail

It's true; you get what you pay for. This is a great example:

Rainbow Marble

This is one that gave me some trouble, as always, with consistency. I used Sally Hansen's Fairy Teal and Thinking of Blue, Rimmel's Sunset Orange and China Glaze Golden Opportunity.

I did this same design in the water every time but it still came out a mess:

Edie vs. Age of Aquarius

Sorry I have been a little MIA in replying, posting and commenting lately. My internet provider SUCKS and my internet likes to randomly drop and either takes a lot of resetting to get back on, or just decides to come back whenever it feels like it.

But anyway, I recently purchased Color Club's Edie and Age of Aquarius. They look very similar in the bottle. Edie is just a tad darker. I wanted to try them out, though and see them on the nail for my own satisfaction.

Nail Art Lifts Spirits When We're Low

Today, I have a guest post for you from Jackie, who got in touch with me about wanting to spread the word about Mesothelioma cancer here. She has a few tips on how to improve one's self esteem even when our lives are at low points. Enjoy!

Emerald City

If you do not own a polish with a matte suede finish, GO GET ONE! This one was my first and I LOVE it!!

Pictures don't even come close to capturing the true beauty of this polish (Emerald City by Revlon)!

I picked this one up at CVS during my huge after-Christmas sale score, but I only got one because I wasn't sure I would like the finish; however, now I am wishing that I would have gotten all three colors that they had!! Not only is this polish absolutely beautiful, but I got a $7 polish for $2, so what's not to love!? =D

I used a shiny topcoat on my ring finger and thumb just to see what the contrast would be like, but left the others alone. It was opaque in one coat, but I used two just because I have this weird issue with unwrapped tips (unpainted free edge).

What's Better Than Nail Mail? V2.0

Is that not the cutest little box you've ever seen in your whole life?!
MORE nail mail! =D
I placed an order for some of the wonderful jewelry that Meredith from Polish and Charms makes and it arrived the other day!

If you haven't yet done so, you should definitely check out her Etsy shop!

Playin' Kissy Face

The main color of this design is two coats of Finger Paints' Romanticism Ruby. I had been searching for a great glitter red for Christmas, and someone suggested China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. I went to Sally Beauty looking for Ruby Pumps and ended up finding Romanticism Ruby, instead, and I love it!! =)

Anyway, the accent base color is L.A. Colors' Berry Red and the lip print is double stamped (so it'd show up better) with Pure ICE Flirt Alert and Bundle Monster plate BM02. I then gave them a coat of Sinful Colors' Pinky Glitter.

11 More Questions

Rychelle from Colorsplash Nails tagged me for the 11 Questions tag! Thank you so much! These are really fun to read and create questions for.

Since I was tagged last month I am just going to direct you to that post for the previous questions I answered and created here.

However I still want to answer Rychelle's questions so here they are!

Grossly Gorgeous

Baby poop green has been far too long absent from my collection... but that's NO MORE!! ^.^

I took advantage of Zoya's promotion (for 2 free bottles of your choice and you'd just pay shipping) in January and they finally arrived! I got the FedEx tracking/delivery email and immediately went out and circled my house to see which door they left it at! I have 4 exterior doors and for some reason they constantly feel the need to leave packages at the back... That is when they can even find my house, because apparently we don't exist on the UPS/FedEx address radar!! Seriously... Bare with me, I have a tangent...

The Sun is Sleeping on the Job

I got a couple of L.A. Girl matte polishes while at Pamida when I went to visit my mom. I don't have many mattes, so I figured I needed to expand that area of my collection. =D

This one is Matte Blue Twilight and I added the dots with a plain L.A. Colors top coat. I thought it was really neat and looked like raindrops!

In a Blue Mood

I don't really have much to say about this one. I was just playing with some polishes to see their opacity, what they looked like, how the stickers faired and so forth.

The ring finger and thumb are Sally Hansen's Thinking of Blue (1 coat for opacity) and the others are China Glaze's Blue Year's Eve (2 coats for opacity).

Double the Love

I received 2 more awards, neither of which I have gotten before and both from Maria's Nail Polish Blog and Polish Enthusiast. Thank you ladies so much!! I appreciate that you thought of me! Everyone should check both of them out, they are both wonderful at what they do and are super sweet! =)

First up, the One Lovely Blog Award:

Awards

I was tagged by Simply Beauty for the Nail Polish Tag and I Love Your Blog. Thank you so much!! =)

Since I have already done these, if you're interested, you can read them (linked above).

Magnetallic

This is a really beautiful metallic blue. Plus, it's magnetic!! =D

I know these have already been seen, but I held off on getting one until I found this one on eBay for $5!

This one doesn't have the magnet in the cap, it's separate from the bottle. But I am okay with that because it seems easier to control that way, without the weight behind it.

Furry Friday - Sagira

This was one of my mom's babies, Sagira. She was the smallest of my mom's three cats and Sagira means "little one" in Egyptian.

Marble Bling

Mmmm I love how super sparkly it is! After 3 coats, it seemed 'eh, kinda sparkly'... until I walked outside! O.O

Gorgeous

I have had Sinful Colors' Gorgeous for at least a year now and have yet to wear it! =P So I figured now is as good a time as any. I am not a big fan of pearls, but I liked this one when I saw it. This is two coats. It was opaque in one, for the most part, but 2 made me feel better. =)

It bubbled a little, but I am not that worried about it because I am just using it as a base for Sally Hansen's Bling-Tastic, the single Gem Crush I broke down and got.
